Cleveland Touchdown Club Charities Announces 2024 Memorial Scholarship Recipients

CLEVELAND – Kaidan Kuehn, Aryan Majhi and Mallory Ralls have been named recipients of the 2024 Cleveland Touchdown Club Charities (CTCC) Memorial Scholarship, the organization announced on July 12 at its annual Gene Hickerson Memorial Golf Outing.

CTCC Memorial Scholarships are awarded annually to graduating Northeast Ohio high school seniors who excel in the classroom, in the community and possess a strong ambition to succeed in college. Each individual will receive a $1,000 scholarship to use at an accredited college or university of their choice during the 2024-25 academic year.

Kuehn, a recent graduate of Avon High School (Avon, Ohio) with a 4.442 GPA, is the second recipient of the Gene Hickerson Memorial Scholarship, a special scholarship to honor Gene Hickerson in 2024. He was an active member of a number of extracurricular activities throughout high school, including receiving the rank of Eagle Scout, volunteering at one of the elderly living communities in Avon, Avon Oaks, and was a Field Commander for the Avon Mighty Eagle Marching Band. He also participated in Pickleball Club, Asian American Heritage Club, and participated in the Avon Parks and Rec. He will be attending the University of Dayton this fall to study Chemical Engineering in the Honors College as a member of their Multi-Ethnic Engineers Program.

Majhi, this year’s recipient of the Dick Zunt Memorial Scholarship, is a 2024 graduate of Berea-Midpark High School (Berea, Ohio) and posted a 4.131 GPA. He has served as the Lt. Governor in Key Club, Vice President of Membership for the PTSA, was in the National Honor Society and volunteered with the non-profit Kids in Flight’s Wings of Wonder event, providing children with serious illnesses sightseeing flights around downtown Cleveland. He attended the Polaris Career Center Aeronautics program and became as Certified sUAS Commercial Drone Pilot through the FAA. He will attend Kent State University in the fall where he will continue his passion and pursue a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

Ralls is a 2024 graduate of Nordonia High School (Macedonia, Ohio) and is the recipient of the Morrie Kono Memorial Scholarship. She spent her entire high school career as a student-athlete focusing on swimming, but later found an interest in athletic training and sports medicine. She spent two years at the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center studying Sports Medicine and Exercise Science. When she wasn’t swimming, Mallory helped her school’s football team and athletic trainers when needed and coached young swimmers at the community recreation center. She posted a 4.378 cumulative GPA and will study Exercise Science at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania this fall.

This year’s scholarships are presented in honor of three gentlemen who have a rich history in Northeast Ohio football – Gene Hickerson, Morrie Kono and Dick Zunt. More information on all three individuals can be found on the Cleveland Touchdown Club Charities website.
